They Do Not Learn From Their Mistakes
Rights and privileges.
This seems to be one people get confused on, so I will expound
A right is something you are born with and no one can take away.
Thomas Jefferson said “endowed by our creator”, i.e. God gave you your rights.
Right to vote.
No! You do not have a right to vote, voting is a privilege. If voting was a right you would have been born with a voters card in one hand and a ballot in the other. Creating the myth of the right to vote is a tactic of Liberals in order to grow their voter base. States used to be able to decide by law who could vote. The ability to vote used to be determined by property ownership. By this method you assured that only those with a vested interest in the state and country would cast a vote. Makes perfect sense, did you get to vote in the Yahoo.com proxy vote? Did you get to cast a vote for he GM board of directors? Do you own stock in either of those companies? If you do then of course you could vote, you have a vested interest in them.
Right to Health Care.
No! Health Care is not a right. If it were a right you would have been born in perfect health and would remain so all your life. You would have been born with an insurance policy attached to your umbilical cord. Health Care, health insurance and good health are privileges. You have to work hard to get a head so you can afford both. May sound harsh but that is reality and reality is not politically correct.
Right to affordable housing.
Again No! No one has a right to housing of any kind. Housing like any other privilege must be worked for and earned. Again were you born with it?
I think that is the biggest gain liberalism has been able to make in the past 75 years, take over the schools and teach kids from an early age that certain privileges are rights and that if you do not have them then the Government (i.e. the taxpayers) have to provide them to you.
A few things I have said a million times.
Didn’t they learn anything from Reagan?
I could go into the details but that list is so long. If you want to know what Reagan would do the click here and pop over to the Heritage.org site. Reagan did not hide his conservative beliefs. Reagan should have proven after the liberalism of Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson and Carter that a true, guided by principle, dyed in the wool conservative will beat a liberal every single time. Not just beat them but thoroughly and wholly trounce them. Reagan’s 1980 election and reelection in 1984.
When liberals talk like conservatives they win, when conservatives act like liberals they loose.
See the statement above about Reagan. Liberals have to try and convince voters they aren’t really liberals, they have to use conservative ideas like tax cuts in order to win. Conversely when conservatives start acting like liberals they loose and they loose big. Look at how the Republicans lost the Congress in 2006, conservative’s sat up there and started acting like liberals. Instead of opposing the Republican President on spending and big Government issues, they went along. They increased the size, scope and spending of Government, just like liberals love to do, and they lost.
We elected Governor Bush and some guy named President Bush showed up in Washington.
George W. Bush would not have won reelection to his second term as Governor of the State of Texas if he had been acting like President Bush does. Selling out conservative principles to get along with Ted Kennedy and the like. Something very wrong happened during the trip from Austin to D.C. and one day either the Justice Department or maybe the Center for Disease Control should look into it. I believe either it was an illness or an invasion of the body snatchers.
