Giving Away More Money We Don't Have
© ignoranceorapathy.com 08/08/2011
As of a radio news report today the United States Government has sent over $500,000,000.00 or one half of a billion dollars to Somalia for famine relief, this year.
Somalia of all places, the home of the pirates harassing shipping, pirating ships and kidnapping crews and officers along the east coast of Africa.
Everyone, well everyone except our government knows the money sent to these types of third world nations never goes where it is supposed to go. We have sent a half a million bucks that will more than likely improve the armament of either the government’s troops or some warlord somewhere. Generosity feels so good, doesn’t it?
Aside from the useless waste those funds will prove to be, as they will do nothing to reverse the famine or actually feed anyone.
You have to keep in mind we are worse than broke.
So in essence, the best way to describe what is going on is with this analogy.
You have just called your credit card company to secure an increase in your credit line because you are maxed out now. Your household is spending 50% more every month than you take in.
(Your monthy gross income is $3500.00 your monthly expenses and taxes is $5250.00)
Now you go out to the ATM and take out a cash advance on this new credit increase to give me money for groceries. I take the money and go out and buy me a new big screen tv. Then I go to the pet store to buy a big ugly dog that is going to chase your children everyday while they are walking home from school.
Thanks neighbor!!!!
