Follow Up on The Annual Theft Of Christmas Lights Has Started Again.

There is no follow up!!!
A rant I posted on craigslist says most of it:

Following up to my previous post referring to the theft of a yard Christmas display item on Friday night Dec. 2nd, our Air Blown snow globe. The College Station Police are doing NOTHING!
I gave them the security camera footage showing the faces of the thieves.
I even took the time to pull still images out of it so they would not have to.
I have offered them still more footage that would aid them in reference to the vehicle the two were operating, they do not respond.
I provided them with another piece of evidence (I wont mention what it was), they logged it and it is in a box somewhere.
No detective has been assigned and no action is being taken.
I am a real resident of College Station, a business owner and a taxpayer. I thought the job of the police was at the very least to give us a false sense of security, if not actually provide some kind of security.
The theft of real property and our time does not seem to interest them.
The Theft of property and damage left behind amounts to just over $300.00, that should be a felony, add in the criminal trespass and the criminal mischief, you would think I would have at the very least gotten one of those "We Are Doing All We Can" phone calls.

I just moments ago(3:45 PM CST 12/7/11) got off the phone with the College Station Police and was informed that the evidence was logged in and that is all. No follow up, no detective and they certainly have not asked to see the additional video I have offered them. In short, they want the thief to come to the station and confess.

Follow up:

So what are we as taxpaying, business owning, full time, real residents of College Station supposed to do if the police will not stop this annual terrorism?

Students trespassing on private property, stealing private property, destroying hundreds of hours worth of work and stealing the holiday spirit from our town.

If the police wont do anything, even to make public statements to the effect of “we are hunting these criminals and we will not tolerate this behavior” would be nice. Even if they would just make it known this is unacceptable behavior for guests in our town. Yes Texas A&M students are guests in our home. This is our home, we live here, they just visit and leave. Of course they must create as much havoc on our streets and in our communities as possible while they are here. But what the hey, they are students, so it is ok.

So what are we going to do to stop this?
