Texas Cottage Food Law in Danger
I would like to ask/plead/beg every Texan reading this to send an email, right now, to cheryl.wilson@dshs.state.tx.us. The subject of the email should read "Proposed Rules for Cottage Foods" and the body can read "I object to the proposed rules for cottage food labeling, and request that DSHS withdraw these rules and publish new rules that reflect the intent of the legislation." more »
Essex Skypark Should Be Saved
In Essex, Maryland there is a little Skypark. A general aviation airport that is supported by donations and fund raisers, not tax payer dollars. A small airport where many have learned to fly since its inception as an airport in 1943. Essex Skypark is the last general aviation airport in Maryland. The last of its kind, you would think that would be worth preserving in just that respect. But politicians and developers have other ideas. more »

I have said all along, the label will be bigger than the cupcake, and I was right. These rule changes by the bureaucrats, against the will and intent of the elected legislature, will kill trees. Activist Bureaucrats Hold Hearing on Texas Cottage Food Law
There will be a hearing in Austin on February 2nd, 2011 to consider the unbelievable and over reaching changes the Health dept. wishes to impose on the home bakers, the small business entrepreneurs and the elected legislature and governor of the state of Texas. more »
